Opera’s vision for Unite holds within it their vision of the ISP.

Opera Unite offers a unique service with unprecedented ease. Users directly accessing content. Wow. That is such a huge deal on many levels. The most important of which, in my opinion, is if this app takes off. It’s a disruptive idea that could reshape internet traffic. Users would once again be pushing the limits of their resources in the U.S. streaming data (possibly even HD video). This pushes even further into the ISP-as-utilty realm which we all want, as ISP’s must change their bandwidth policies, their infrastructure, and most likely their business models.

Big ups to you, Opera.
